Did you know that your iPhone can be used for more than just streaming videos or playing music on your iPod? You can now stream music directly from Safari, without installing any apps.

All you need is a service that streams audio and a .pls stream for that audio and you're done.

To find the .pls file you'll either have to use a little trial and error on your iPhone's browser or find the link using the browser on your computer. Most websites should label their streams well, but in case they don't, you can simply hover over any link and read the file extension in the status bar.

Clicking on the link in your iPhone should start the stream directly. Wi-fi is recommended as most audio streams can be very heavy, especially if its a continuous stream.

Enjoy!

Well.. Almost.

You can now browse the web like you're using the iPhone. An advantage in that is it improves load time and some sites like Gmail seem even better. Here's how to do it.

First, you'll need Firefox. Doesn't work with Internet Explorer. If you don't already have FF, you don't know what you're missing.

1. Once you have Firefox installed and running, go to this Addon page.
2. Click on the Add to Firefox button and install the addon.
3. Restart Firefox
4. Now simply go to a webpage that has an iphone edition, say Gmail
5. In the Firefox menu, go to Tools > Default User Agent > iPhone 3.0
6. Refresh the page.

Voila! You have the iphone version of that page. Just log in and check your mail. It's a breeze. It works pretty well with Facebook too.

I finally got one of these beauties! I'm loving every moment of it. I gotta say this phone is WAAAY ahead of its time. Some of the features are just mind blowing. The browser is top class. I'm seriously considering buying a wireless router so I can use this thing anywhere in my house. It's simply awesome!

You've probably read a lot about the features, so I'll just talk about the pricing. Buying an unlocked piece locally would've cost me 20,000 rupees. And I found out that a piece in the US costs 399 USD add to that federal taxes and this thing costs 432 dollars (That's about 18,200 rupees) A good enough difference for you to ask someone to bring it for you.

I unlocked it myself (with some help from a friend) it was a simple one-click step. No sweat! If you're thinking of spending something in the range of 15,000 rupees for a cell phone, then I definitely recommend that you put in a little extra and get this phone. You won't regret it.
